Basic 210: Filter Tank for approx. 1000 litres aquaria

This filter tank is suitable for marine aquariums (Colorful reef aquarium type) up to approx. 1000 liters. The maximum size depends on the area of the aquarium, the type and length of the overflow and the circulation volume flow; please do not calculate too tightly and choose a larger Basic tank if in doubt.

The water leaves the aquarium either through an overflow shaft or through an external overflow (ExFlow) and flows into the 1st chamber of the Basic system - the feed chamber. The supply line should end directly above the filter sock(s) to allow flow through this filter unit. If a MediaCup is used, a connection from the return pump or a bypass should be used BEFORE the aquarium drain reducing valve. Heaters and measuring chains can also be hung in the first chamber.

The pre-cleaned water flows through a perforated grid with optimized geometry into the 2nd chamber - the degassing chamber. This chamber is equipped with filling elements, which on the one hand remove micro-bubbles and on the other hand take over a biological filter function.

Then the 3rd chamber is reached - the multifunctional chamber. Here is the complete remaining filter technology and the recirculation pump. The first thing to mention is the skimmer. Models with wooden air stones require an additional air pump - the water supply can be made through the return pump, models with an injector (venturi) require a correspondingly stronger return pump or a separate pump, models with a needle wheel require a special pump. The skimmer effluent should be returned to the 2nd stage in any case, in order to remove its micro-bubbles as well. Additional special filters can be installed - also later. The return pump transports the filtered water back into the aquarium. Energy-saving pumps may be more expensive to buy, but they are much quieter in operation, consume less electricity and can be regulated. - Water evaporates during operation. This must be refilled with reverse osmosis water from time to time, about 1 to 2 times per week. Alternatively, this process can be automated with the standard float valve. A container with reverse osmosis water is required, which is a little higher than the water level in the multi-purpose chamber. An electronic refill device can be installed as an alternative.

Additional filters can be hung on the Basic filter basin at any time with the appropriate hang-on holders to realize additional filter functions.

The filters are manufactured in Germany made of high-quality acrylic glass (European fabrication). Modifications or special designs are possible at any time - please contact us. For larger aquariums, our basic filter basins made of "unbreakable" polyethylene are available.
