Phosphate Filter

Phosphate Filter

Phosphate Filter

Phosphor is an essential element - in too low concentrations the animals will have symptoms of lack. In natural reefs phosphor is a minimum factor. But in aquaria this substance is enriching by the intake of food. In reef tanks with hard corls the phosphate concentration should be in the range of 0.05 to 0.20 ppm. To much phosphate anticipates the growth of the hard coral skeleton and causes algae growth. There are different methods to lower the phosphate concentration in the aquarium:

  • more water change with phosphate-free water
  • more growth of corals, algae and bacteria
  • elimination by precipitation substances
  • adsorption with special adsorbers

The PMR is a highly effective adsorber without abrasion and release of colours. It takes out the phosphate and does not release it under aquarium conditions.

The cheaper version is filled with a standard adsorber material with a good price-performance ratio.

tipp Oversizing is not possible. The filter material of the larger one stands longer.

If you are looking for larger systems please choose the PMR industrial size.

Spare for your PMR can be found here.
