10 Sock filter

The sock filter is a particle filter installed in the filter basin of an aquarium that removes large to medium particles and fibers from the water.

The sock filter should be installed in the filter basin or filter compartment in such a way that it can be easily removed and washed out under running water. For greater performance, several socks can be operated side by side. For finer filtration, two socks can be placed inside each other.

The sock filter is suitable for very small to medium aquariums. For larger aquariums, the automatic version - fleece filter - should be installed.
