You can dose calcium, magnesium, and carbonate hardness (alkalinity) independently of the use of a chalk reactor. In some case one parameter is too low in the water, alltough a chalk reactor is used. The use of mineral additives can help.

Some substances are used by animals, complexation or precipitation. Because of the lack of technique you can dose them only by additives or more water change. To these group trace elements, strontium, iodine and mineral mixtures belongs.

For small aquaria, low needs or automatic supply the fluid products are recommended - for larger amounts the economical powders of the "Super" series and concentrates makes sense.
