The AquaCare Activated Carbon Filter is the MF₂ multi-function filter with a filling of high-end activated carbon.

removes oxidants such as chlorine and ozone
removes coral toxins (poisons)
removes yellow substances and medication residues
as air pollutant filter before skimmers

The water flows from bottom to top through the filter (upstream process) or alternatively from top to bottom (downstream process) for a higher speed. For downstream operation we recommend a vent valve for the cover.

Activated carbon adsorbs unwanted substances such as ozone, coral toxins (e.g. palytoxin), drug residues and yellow substances. The activated carbon must be changed regularly - we recommend to change the filling every 2-6 weeks - after medication use at the latest after three days.

In rooms heavily polluted with tobacco smoke, essential oils (e.g. aromatic candles), diluents, the supply air of a skimmer should be directed over activated carbon to bind this substance. The activated carbon should be replaced monthly.
