The CO2 adsorber removes the carbon dioxide from the supply air of a skimmer and thus raises the pH value of the aquarium water.

The supply air is passed through the filter and flows through the CO2-X globules. These remove the carbon dioxide and no longer lead to the formation of carbonic acid in the skimmer, which lowers the pH value. The pH value in the aquarium water rises slightly. If the filter material is used up, it turns slighty violet and must be replaced with new CO2-X globules. The material must be replaced even after subsequent decolouration! The material cannot be regenerated.
