The DirectFlow reverse osmosis system is placed on the kitchen worktop or installed under the sinks or in the cellar. After connecting the inlet, waste water and pure water, simply plug in the power supply unit and water can be produced. As soon as the drinking water tap is opened, the system produces pure water. When the tap is closed again, the system flushes the concentrated water out of the system and goes into standby mode. If no water is drawn for a longer period of time, the hygiene flush is activated to remove the stagnant water in the system and thus ensure a high standard of hygiene. - The system can be operated completely without an app or WLAN connection.

The free app can be used to make settings or call up statistics. It also indicates the next filter change and guides you through this procedure step by step. Errors are displayed and troubleshooting suggestions are provided. A WLAN connection is required for updates.

How do I operate the system?
As soon as the clean water tap is opened, the system produces fresh reverse osmosis water. When the tap is closed again, the system flushes the membrane and goes into standby mode.

Is hygienic production guaranteed?
AquaCare has two rinsing programs to reduce possible contamination to a minimum. The membrane is rinsed after each production run to drain off the concentrated water. If the system has not produced for a longer period of time, a hygiene rinse is carried out to prevent sludge water from forming in the system. The DirectFlow system is built without a pressure tank for storage. This ensures that only freshly produced water is dispensed. The water temperature is almost the same as the tap water temperature.
Note: the first 10 seconds of the produced water should be rejected.
Note: the system should not be used with drinking water containing bacteria.

Does the system require maintenance?
Yes. The intelligent control system indicates when the pre-filter needs to be changed. The replacement interval is normally 12 months and is displayed in the app. If desired, the time of the filter change can be sent to a smartphone or tablet via push message. The app guides you step by step through the filter change procedure.
Customer service should be used to replace the membrane.

How safe is the system?
AquaCare has implemented a number of measures for this system to ensure that operation is as safe as possible.

The inlet solenoid valve is mounted directly on the tap (water stop) and only opens when water is required.
Water pressure is only built up when the system is producing pure water. After each production run, the water pressure in the system is quickly and completely released.
The system runs on 24 volts and is operated with a power supply unit. This ensures maximum electrical safety.
A leakage sensor can be connected as an option. If the sensor is located in a puddle of water, the system switches off immediately and issues an alarm (app, push message, red status LED).
If an adjustable maximum production time is exceeded, the system switches off.
The system can be switched off by software, e.g. during a vacation.
If the pre-pressure is not available (water supply in the house has failed or the tap is simply turned off), the system switches off and gives an alarm.
This system is manufactured in Germany and is tested to AquaCare standards in our factory before delivery. We ensure the highest quality with our specialist staff.

We all know osmotic processes. If you watch ripe black cherries it is possible that they will get ruptured or scared over places after a rain shower. The reason for it is the fact, that the skin of a cherry is a semipermeable membrane. Inside there is a solution with a high ionic concentration (cherry juice contains a lot of sugar and salts) and outside are rain drops with nearly no ions. The only way to balance the inside and outside concentrations is that water is flowing into the cherry - sugar and salts are too big to get through the cherry skin. But the cherry cannot grow so fast and therefore the inside migrating water raises the inside pressure - so called osmotic pressure - until the skin will rupture.

With reverse osmosis techique the principle of osmosis is inverted. At the high concentration side (feed water, e.g. tap water) is a pressure (pump or tap water pressure) that forces the water molecules against their natural migration through the membrane onto the pure water side (permeate side). The salts (e.g. hardnes, nitrate, silicic acid, residues of pesticides and medicine) and other substances (except gases) are nearly not able to pass the membrane because they are too big. So on the permeate side is nearly only water.

With the feed water a constant flow of new substances will reach the membrane. If you do not drain them they will accumulate and heavy soluble salts will precipitate. So a reverse osmosis unit will produce pure water (permeate) AND waste water (concentrate).
