The AquaCare BasiTech WLAN devices are characterised by the following general features:

High protection against splash water.
24 V extra-low voltage for maximum electrical safety.
Screwed sensors to prevent accidental loosening.
Emergency stop input, which is normally bridged. It can be used with an NC level switch for an emergency stop function. If the float triggers (contact open), all outputs switch off, regardless of what the software considers to be correct.
Colour-coded sensor cables or plugs: blue = NO (float at bottom ), red = NC (float at bottom), orange = analogue sensors, green = analogue actuators.
In the case of water technology modules, a leakage sensor can usually be connected, which switches off the system immediately if puddles form.
None of the modules require WLAN or a Bluetooth connection to function. An Internet access is only required if settings are to be changed or messages output.
Sophisticated software: This prevents application errors as far as possible. If, for example, minium and maximum switches are mixed up, the software recognises this and provides detailed instructions on how to correct the error. Many hardware errors are recognised. If, for example, a working time lasts too long, this is an indication of faulty pumps and solenoid valves.
Detailed explanations in the app menus also make it easier to set the various options. The user can do almost nothing wrong. Settings that require special care are saved in a protected expert mode.
If desired, error messages and alarm messages can be sent to a mobile device (smartphone, tablet) via push notification.
All outputs are protected with miniature fuses to prevent damage to the circuit in the event of faulty loads. The power supply units used are short-circuit proof.

The AquaCare BasiTech reverse osmosis control unit WLAN "RO-S" includes many useful functions*:

Level control
Unpressurised tanks can be filled automatically. The inlet solenoid valve is installed between the pre-filter and the reverse osmosis module of the reverse osmosis system - this is particularly easy with the supplied push-fit fittings. The flush solenoid valve is connected as a bypass for the system's manual flush valve. A minimum and a maximum float switch are set to the lower and upper level in the storage tank and your reverse osmosis system can be operated automatically. You will find the appropriate holders in the accessories section. - If the water level in the storage tank falls below the minimum sensor, the reverse osmosis system starts to produce water. The system only stops when the maximum sensor is exceeded. The minimum-maximum distance should be as large as possible so that the reverse osmosis system is in operation for as long as possible in one go: this ensures the best water quality. - If an aquarium is to be refilled directly, it should have at least 1000 litres. The minimum sensor should be replaced with a contactless sensor with no moving parts so that dirt cannot cause any faults. Small aquariums should only be supplied from a clean water supply tank. The additional function "Refill aquarium" can be used for this purpose if the 3rd output of the RO circuit is not used for any other purpose. Alternatively, the AquaCare BasiTech automatic refill can be installed.
Automatic rinsing
To protect the reverse osmosis membrane and thus improve the water quality, the BasiTech reverse osmosis control unit has a flushing function. When starting and stopping the system and every 30 minutes during operation, the membrane is flushed for 30 seconds.
Standby rinsing / hygiene rinsing
If the reverse osmosis system is out of operation for a longer period of time, the water in the system can rot. To prevent this, the hygiene flush is activated for 30 seconds as soon as the system has been out of operation for more than 24 hours.
Safety functions
- The mechanical float switches can be replaced with non-contact sensors.
- The level sensors can be replaced with normally closed contacts to prevent flooding in the event of a cable break.*
- An additional float switch can be connected as an emergency stop function if the RO tank or aquarium is overfilled.
- With an optional leakage sensor, production is stopped immediately and an alarm is signalled.
- A general valve can be mounted directly on the tap and protects the pressure hose to the reverse osmosis system.
- An additional float switch can be used to detect an excess level in the aquarium. This option is particularly useful when using the refill function.
- If the feed water is fully softened, a residual hardness sensor can monitor the function of the softening system. As soon as hardness breaks through, the RO system switches off and the BasiTech control unit triggers an alarm.*
- A connected pressure switch can monitor the inlet pressure. In systems without a pressure pump, only the message is given. In systems with a pressure pump, this is switched off and an alarm is signalled in the event of low pressure.*
- If a conductivity meter is installed in the clean water hose (e.g. AquaCare BasiTech IO universal module), the RO system can be stopped if the water quality is too poor. An alarm message is displayed.*
- The maximum operating time can be selected. If it is exceeded, the circuit switches off. *
- The maximum refill time for the aquarium can be selected. If it is exceeded, the app issues a message.*
- The operation of the RO system can be time-controlled, e.g. only produce during the day or not during holidays.*
- Display of filter change interval, operating time, faults, fill level of the RO tank (max, min, empty) and push messages on a smartphone. *
Additional options for the third relay output:
- An automatic refill system that refills reverse osmosis water into the aquarium can be used *.
- A booster pump can be integrated into the RO system and is controlled by the app (pre-pressure control). Even a 230 V pump for very large systems can be controlled by the BasiTech reverse osmosis circuit using an auxiliary switch. *
- A permeate discharge valve can be controlled. It makes sense to discard the first RO water produced, especially if an ultrapure water filter is installed downstream. This conserves the capacity of the demineraliser resin. *
- A general valve on the water tap ensures maximum leakage protection when the system is at a standstill. *

When purchasing this item, you can choose whether the circuit is installed directly on the mounting plate of the AquaCare reverse osmosis system. The base plate dimensions will increase.

The pure water tank, which is filled by the reverse osmosis, can also be mechanically protected against overflow by connecting the pure water outlet to a float valve (see accessories). The float valve must be installed above the maximum switch of the reverse osmosis control unit. If the control system fails and produces water at random, the water rises above the maximum level in the tank until the float of the float valve is raised. No further permeate flows; the tank does not overflow. The reverse osmosis system does not suffer any damage - however, waste water is produced.

* These functions are only available with a smartphone or tablet. The "Typus" app and a WLAN connection with internet access are required.
