The AquaCare activated carbon filter is the Smart-Filter 200 with a filling of high-performance activated carbon. It can be used both as a water filter and as a gas filter.
As a water filter, it should preferably be flowed through from bottom to top (upstream). The inlet water from the aquarium is pumped into the filter by means of a bypass of the main pump or an additional feed pump. The water flows past the activated carbon and is freed from pollutants. The cleaned water flows back into the aquarium. Activated carbon must be replaced regularly.
As a gas filter, this activated carbon filter can be installed at the air inlet of a skimmer. Air pollutants such as cigarette smoke or organic solvents are filtered and thus do not get into the aquarium water. Activated carbon must be replaced regularly.
If you no longer need an activated carbon filter, you can fill the filter with other filter materials.
The filter can be screwed on from both sides and is equipped with fine filter sponges. Two wall clips are included to attach the Smart Filter to a wall.

Larger amounts of activated carbon can extract oxygen from the air - always work in ventilated rooms!
