Tempering: conrol heaters, large heater and heat exchanger

Tempering: conrol heaters, large heater and heat exchanger

In sea water only sea water resistant materials are suitable. So you cannot use most metallic materials, excluded titan and some duplex-steels. Stainless steel (even 316) are not chloride-stable - there is a lot chloride in sea water - and causes pitting corrosion. Sacrificial anodes for protecting steel materials are not suitable, because harmful substances like aluminium will be enriched in the water.

AquaCare offers large heaters with quartz glass cover. This materila is more resistant against heat stress than normal glass. But we recommend to protect the heater against runnin-dry by run-dry protection or a heater chamber, that cannot get empty. Large heaters release a lot of heat after turn-off the system for about 15 to 20 minutes.

AquaCare heat exchangers are produced custom made. We need following specification from you:

  • wished temperature in the aquarium in °C
  • available temperature of the heating or chilling water in °C
  • wished heating or chilling power in kW
