The inlet water from the aquarium is pumped into the system at the bottom via a bypass of the main pump or an additional feed pump. The water speed is set so high that the filter bed remains in motion (only materials suitable for fluidised beds!). The discharged purified water is pumped back into the aquarium at the upper connection. The main pipe can be rotated in 45° steps to have the outlet pipe in the desired position.
The special inlet with deflector plate prevents overgrowth with bacteria (under normal aquarium conditions) and ensures even vortexing of the filter material. The inlet geometry is designed so that when the water flows back (e.g. in the event of a power failure), the filter material is not so easily entrained and the inlet pipe is not blocked. In most cases, a non-return valve in the inlet can be dispensed with.
The filter is emptied at the drain valve in the base plate.
The filter can be converted to a simple empty filter at any time by replacing the base plate with a sieve. Also with this AquaCare product a maximum flexibility is guaranteed.
