44 CO2 adsorber

Product no.: LexF44

If the pH in the aquarium water is too low, an increased carbon dioxide concentration may be the cause. There are several reasons for this:

  • Unbalanced ratio of fish to corals.
  • Too high carbon dioxide concentration in the room air: especially in well insulated houses with too little ventilation the carbon dioxide concentration rises too high.
  • No skimmer on the system.
  • Low air flow rate of the skimmer.

A carbon dioxide adsorber (breathing lime) placed before the air inlet of the skimmer effectively removes the carbon dioxide contained in the inlet air. The pH value of the aquarium decreases by approx. 0.2-0.3 steps. The adsorber granulate discolors when the capacity is reached and must be replaced.
