All plants and animals need for healthy growth bivalent iron. Aqua Care Iron-II is in a chelated and therefore it will not oxidized to trivalent iron so fast. Products that are not protected with a chelating agent are only bioavailable for a very short time (few hours to days, depending on the concentration and ORP = redox potential).

In ultra-low nutrient sea water a dosing of iron (and trace elements) brings back the colours of SPS and LPS corals.

Dosing:

Fresh Water:
10 ml to 100 litres aquarium water every week

In aquaria with high productivity (strong lights; rapidly growing plant) you may dose the double.
If lots of green algae grow reduce the dose and find other fertilizing substances like nitrate and phosphate and find a way to reduce them to an adequate level.

The natural iron concentration in fresh water biotops is up to several mg/l. But in your aquarium concentrations of 0.2-0.5 mg/l are acceptable.
We recommend a water change of minium 5% per week.

Sea Water:
add 10 ml to 100 litres aquarium water every week

For fresh water biotopes the mineral compositon of the raw water is normaly not perfect. Frequently RO technique is used to be sure against harmful substances. In these cases the AquaCare Mineral Salt is easy to dose, creating ideal water conditions. Hardness and alkalinity plus minerals will be in the readily mixed water.

In small sea water aquaria or lime reactor-free systems normally alkalinity and calcium products are used (method after BALLING). Generally these products are dosed with anti-ions - so table salt (NaCl) will be enriched higher than the average, if very less or non water change is done (ion-shifting). With the AquaCare Mineral Salt it is possible to work against this enrichment.

Dosing for fresh water aquaria:

20 g in 100 litres water* raises following parameter:

Total hardness: approx. 3°dH
Carbonate Hardness / alkalinity: approx. 1°dH
Electrical conductivity: approx. 300 µS/cm
pH value: approx. 8.1
* measured with RO water with medium carbon dioxide concentration. The quality of the raw water may change the results dramatically.
We recommend a water change of minium 5% per week.

Dosing for sea water aquaria:

per 10 ml Calcium-plus and KH-plus: 2 tabelespoons Mineral Salz
if Super-Calcium an Super-Buffer are used: take the same amout of Mineral Salz.
We recommend a water change of minium 1% per week.

The AquaCare sea salt for modern reef tanks is best for all colourful hard coral tanks, reef tanks and special tanks. The scientific composed mixture, the selected pure raw materials and the carfully done mixing process guarantee a constant composion and highest quality. There are eigther colours nor trickle substances. The macro elements composition equals the natural sea water composition; the trace elements are mixed depending on the requirements of the animals.

The AquaCare sea salt is made for reverse osmosis water. With hard water precipitations may occur - these deposits are not harmful.

Iodine plays a major role in the hormone balance of seawater animals. Crustaceans, for example, cannot skin themselves without sufficient iodine. If you have many macro algae (e. g. Halimedia, Caulerpa or many brown algae) or disc anemones and xeniids in your aquarium, or if you filter with an algae filter, the algae can quickly consume the entire iodine concentration of the water. In this case, iodine should be supplied regularly from the outside.

Especially after the use of activated carbon and zeolites iodine has to be added to the water, as activated carbon adsorbs iodine very quickly and effectively.

The AquaCare Super Iodine is highly active due to the very effective iodine-iodide-polyiodine formula without alcohol. Under no circumstances may an overdose take place. In case of overdose, filter immediately via activated carbon. Measure the iodine concentration in the seawater aquarium regularly.

Dosing:

Sea water:
1 drop (about 50 µl) per 100 litres aquarium volume and day or 0.5 ml per 1000 litres

Attention! Because of the high effectivity small over-dosings may cause damages at animals. Therefore please check the iodine concentration regularly. In sea water the optimum concentration is about 0.05 to 0.08 mg/l (ppm) = 50 to 80 µg/l (ppb).

Protect this product against warm temperatures and strong lights.

Strontium is besides calcium and hydrogen carbonate (KH, alkalinity) an important mineral for the skeleton of the hard corals. Only by a regular support of Strontium hard corals can growth and mature.

At outbreaks of Xenia and relatives higher dosing of Strontium will lower the growth.

Because of the high concentration you should use this product only for larger aquaria (more than 750 litres) or you have a precise balance.

Measure the strontium concentration in the aquarium regularly.

Dosing for sea water aquaria:
1 g per 1,000 litres and week
or create a stock solution with 100 g and ad to 1 litre (10%) - dose 1 ml per 100 litres and week of this solution. If you are unsure to handle with stock solutions please choose the product "Strontium".

Test the strontium concentration regularly and adapt the dosing accordingly.
We recommend a water change of minium 1% per week.

Wash face, hands and any exposed skin thoroughly after handling. Do not eat, drink or smoke when using this product. Wear protective gloves/protective clothing/eye protection/face protection. Avoid breathing dust/fume/gas/mist/vapors/spray. Use only outdoors or in a well-ventilated area. F IN EYES: Rinse cautiously with water for several minutes. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing. Immediately call a POISON CENTER or doctor/physician.
