Carbon dixoid (CO₂) adsorber for increasing the pH value in seawater aquariums - a skimmer is required!

If the pH of a saltwater aquarium is constantly too low (<8.0), too much algae growth can occur and corals do not grow optimally. With the AquaCare CO₂-Adsorber the carbon dioxide of the supply air of a skimmer is removed, less carbonic acid is formed in the aquarium and the pH value of the water increases.

The CO₂ adsorber is filled into a suitable, airtight and transparent empty filter (e.g. AquaCare MF₂). The skimmer sucks its supply air through the CO₂ adsorber filter.

When the adsorber capacity is exhausted, the granules turn purple. The granules must then be replaced.

The AquaCare CO₂-X-Globuli are semicircular carriers coated with calcium hydroxide. If air flows past the X globules, the CO₂ is absorbed and bound. No further carbon dioxide can get into the seawater and does not form carbonic acid and cannot lower the pH value.
When the material is saturated and not effective anymore, it turns violet. Then it must be removed (household waste) and replaced with new AquaCare CO₂-X globules, even if it should decolorize again after a while.

If the skimmer is operated with an air dryer and ozone unit, the sequence of the filter stages must be strictly adhered to:

- outside air
- AquaCare CO₂-X globules
- air dryer (e.g. AquaCare LTM)
- ozone generator (e.g. AquaCare ozone generator)
- skimmer (e.g. AquaCare ACF)

This filter material should never come into contact with the aquarium water. Make sure that it is impossible for water to flow back into the CO₂-X globules filter.
