Base plate for empty filters made of acrylic glass (PMMA) with deflector plate for creating a perfect fluidized bed. The base plate can be installed in all AquaCare empty filters made of acrylic glass instead of the regular filter plate. This special plate is perfectly suited for filter materials that are degraded by bacteria or for very fine materials such as quartz sand.

The special inlet with deflector plate prevents overgrowth with bacteria (under normal aquarium conditions) and ensures even turbulence of the filter material. The inlet geometry is designed so that when the water flows back (e.g. in the event of a power failure), the filter material is not so easily entrained and the inlet pipe becomes blocked. In most cases, a non-return valve in the inlet can be dispensed with. For filter materials with a grain size of less than 3 mm, a non-return valve is recommended.
