These skimmers of the high-end class with the most effective Suspended Flow Principle are characterized by the effect, that the gas bubbles stay a long time in abeyance. With this long contact time between gas bubble and water a high exchange is realised: carbon dioxid is driven out and oxygen is inserted. The adsorption of proteins and other removable substances is also a time-dependent factor, that is favored by long contact times.

The skimmers with injector are service reduced. The injector gets no chalk crust up to 10°KH.

You may operate this skimmer externally or inside a filter sump.

Advantages compared to other skimmers:

extreme long contact time; that means:
- high enrichment of oxygen and ozone
- forming of the carbon dioxid - hydrogen carbonate - carbonate - buffer system at low alkalinity
- more even pH value
lowers the numbers of free bacteria to about 20%
reduces the ozone demand by 70%
lower ammonia / ammonium, nitrite, nitrate and phosphate concentrations

The aquarium water enriched with air (wooden air stone, injector/venturi or needle wheel) is fed into the unit at the lowest point. Since the highest pressure is in this section, gas exchange is improved. The water-air mixture rises in the reaction tube. There, the protein-containing foam column is formed.
Some of the air bubbles are forced downward through the outer tube by the water flow. At the expansion cone, the water flow slows down as a result of the larger tube diameter. Due to this principle, the air bubbles remain in the water for a particularly long time and accumulate considerably more protein and other substances.
After a long contact time, the bubbles return to the foam section. The foam rises to the top and is slowly dewatered. The solid protein foam loaded with waste material reaches the collecting cup.

Thus, waste materials are effectively and safely removed from the aquarium and the gas balance is stabilised.
