Application:

The AquaCare H2O-X-Globuli increases the performance of e.g. ozone devices by drying the supplied air. Only use the dehumidifier in airtight flow columns, e.g. in the AquaCare multifunction filter MF₂ or in the air drying module LTM. The air to be dried must be passed through the drying column. If the blue indicator beads turn red over time, the desiccant can be regenerated. Do not overheat: otherwise the indicator will be destroyed.

Regeneration:

Take the drying agent out off the column, put it onto a large area (e.g. baking tray) and dry it for 1...2 hours for 130...140°C (260...285°F). After a short cooling period fill the agent back into the air tight column. Do not overheat: the indicator will be destroyed.

The AquaCare sea salt for modern reef tanks is best for all colourful hard coral tanks, reef tanks and special tanks. The scientific composed mixture, the selected pure raw materials and the carfully done mixing process guarantee a constant composion and highest quality. There are eigther colours nor trickle substances. The macro elements composition equals the natural sea water composition; the trace elements are mixed depending on the requirements of the animals.

The AquaCare sea salt is made for reverse osmosis water. With hard water precipitations may occur - these deposits are not harmful.

Calcium carbonate crush, white, is an optimal material for lime reactors. The high degree of purity guarantees high performance. This material can also be used as a substrate for seawater aquariums and East African cichlids. It buffers formed acids and thus stabilizes the pH value of the aquarium water. In a filter after reverse osmosis systems, the water is stripped of the aggressive carbonic acid and enriched with minerals (mineral filters).

In ultra-low NP aquaria POC+Globuli produce bacterio-plankton for the aquarium animals. The bacteria are ingested by filtrating organisms like corals and clams and supply them with energy and nutrients.

In normal and highly polluted aquaria POC+Globuli are able to de-nitrify nitrate under anaerobic conditions: active de-nitrification. In this case the POC-Globuli should be used in a nitrate filter.

AquaCare POC-Globuli has following characteristics:

• pure Particular Organic Carbon = POC
• high efficiency in aerobic as well as in anaerobic operation
• the produced bacteria may be ingested by corals and other filtrating organisms
• acute over dosing as known with the Vodka method is not possible

Important! Never put the POC+Globuli directly into the aquarium. Do not use them in normal filters - unwanted chemical reactions may occur. Keep this product away from children.

Carbon dixoid (CO₂) adsorber for increasing the pH value in seawater aquariums - a skimmer is required!

If the pH of a saltwater aquarium is constantly too low (<8.0), too much algae growth can occur and corals do not grow optimally. Animals can also lose orientation and change their behaviour unnaturally if the pH value is too low. 
With the AquaCare CO₂-Adsorber the carbon dioxide of the supply air of a skimmer is removed, less carbonic acid is formed in the aquarium and the pH value of the water increases.

The CO₂-X-Globuli are filled into a suitable, airtight and transparent empty filter (e.g. AquaCare MF2 or in a simple PMMA filter). The skimmer sucks its supply air through the CO₂ adsorber filter.

When the adsorber capacity is exhausted, the granules turn purple. The granules must then be replaced, even if it should decolorize again after a while.

Ion exchange resin to remove nitrate from fresh water and slightly brackish water - the resin can be regenerated after loading with a saline solution. The resin is ready for use and can be used immediately in a filter.

The aquarium water flows through a filter containing the nitrate resin. The nitrate in the water is exchanged in the ion exchanger for chloride ions. When the capacity is exhausted - the nitrate concentration in the aquarium water slowly increases again - the resin can be regenerated.

A saline solution is prepared for this purpose. Dissolve approx. 300 g/l iodine-free common salt (NaCl) per liter of tap water (approx. 30°C); tablet salt from softening systems can also be used. Approx. 5 liters of brine are required per liter of nitrate resin. (If you have a softening unit, you can use the brine from this unit directly).
Remove the nitrate filter with the resin from the aquarium system. Allow the brine to run slowly through the filter in the opposite direction to how it runs in normal operation. Then rinse the resin slowly with approx. 10 liters of tap water per liter of resin to prevent common salt from entering the aquarium. If you have a conductivity meter, you can also rinse until the outgoing water has the same conductivity as the incoming water.

Install the filter back in your aquarium and put it into operation.

Coarse zeolite material for the zeolite process. The material consists of a mineral with a high clinoptilolite content. This natural aluminum silicate has good adsorber and exchanger properties and is thus ideally qualified to realize the physical and biological processes of the zeolite method.

In addition, heavy metals are bound to the surface and thus rendered harmless.

Ammonium/ammonia is quickly bound to the surface of the zeolite and thus removed from the water body. Bacteria growing on the zeolite absorb the ammonium/ammonia along with other organic compounds. For the process to work stably, the filter bed must be cleared of excess bacteria daily. This is done by rinsing with water and/or air. In addition, approximately 2/3 of the material should be replaced every two months.

For aquariums with high nutrient content (phosphate > 0.1 mg/l, nitrate > 10 mg/l), the rinse water should be introduced before the suction side of the skimmer to reduce the load.

For aquariums with low nutrient levels, it makes sense to discharge the rinse water directly in front of the suction side of the recirculation pump or directly into the aquarium. This will provide corals and other filter feeders with high quality bacterioplankton.

Ultra Pure Water Resin for eliminating the remaining substances, that are not removed completely by a reverse osmosis unit.

Reverse Osmosis Units are not able to remove all substances in that way that no problems may occure. Especially silica concentration over 1 mg/l (ppm) or nitrat concentrations over 50 mg/l a ultra pure water filter should be installed after the RO unit.

The ultra pure water resin lowers the electrical conductivity far below 1 µS/cm. If the conductivity rises over 2-3 mg/l again, the resin has to be changed.
